I would rather say it and be ignored than not say it and see her get hurt.

This Past Week Has Been Hell!
by XJW4EVR inlast friday morning, my wife was attacked while waiting to transfer between buses.
normally, she has the car, and i commute to school, however this day i had to take the car in for some repairs, and then commute to school.
she fought off this guy for some time, and walked away with scratches, scrapes, and some bruises.

Surge in "anointed ones"
by dozy inthe nightmare scenario is slowly unravelling for the wts.. since 1935 , wtbts policy was to shut up the kingdom of heaven by implying that any new anointed was at best misled & at worst a fake.
franzs replacement theory did little to help matters.
this suppressed many jws from becoming anointed.. recent wt articles & changes in thought has resulted in a surge in jws claiming this status.

OK, so, if large numbers, or perhaps the majority of those who partake at the Memorial aren't "genuine anointed", how are you supposed to tell who is & isn't "genuine"?
I can safely assume it will be the old standard....Superior service hours, magnum placements, and immaculate meeting attendance...

Dubs and doorbells -- has there been some "new light"?
by parakeet inthis afternoon my husband looked out the window and saw two unmistakable dubs shuffling up our street.
he didn't have time to warn me before they came to our door (he knows i get a bit testy whenever they visit).
i was in a nearby room, but heard nothing, saw nothing.

Door dodging is the height of hypocrisy imho. Why get dressed up, go out to the doors and then not talk to anyone. They want the hounders to see them at the doors but they don't have the sand to speak up and let their light shine for the world to see it? When I went I knocked or rang the bell. I wanted to share what I believed was truth. Of course, maybe trhey don't believe what they are drumming....In which case they should just not go at all. I quit going when I no longer felt in my heart that I could bring anyone into an organization where they preach love but are more hateful than anything.....
I wonder if I were in your shoes what I would have told them.

df'd son came for dinner...he is going to the memorial...puke....
by oompa inwell it may not be a big puke, but his jw mom has begged him to go, and he says nbd, it is just one night.
i was not going, then thought about going because i am curious if this one will be different with the doors to heaven being opened again.
so will that make the speaker shut up about how no one can partake since we all must be great crowd?

Let's share some happiness!!!
by momzcrazy init is a beautiful day.
the sun is out and the birds are singing.
i have wonderful friends, a precious man i love, and healthy happy kids.. can anyone join me in sharing the love and beauty in their life?

Tired of the Hypocrisy
I can think of three beautiful things in my life.
My Wife: She was the loveliest woman I had ever laid eyes on. When I laid eyes on her was at a CA and when I asked a sister I was friends with to introduce us, she said she could not for this beauty was "DISFELLOWSHIPPED". Not to worry....I had fallen so hard for her that not even being df'd was any sort of an obstacle. We were married a few years later and on Monday we had our 18th wedding anniversary. Why she stays with me I will never know.
My youngest Son: When this boy was born, I felt the most beautiful and purest love I can imagine. We are close and I loev nothing more than to spend time with him and listen to him play his guitar.
My Other Family: My mom and sibs are all faded out and I am also fading. They are the least judgemental people on Earth and now I know why they never fit well into teh jw mold. We are far apart but close in our hearts and are always there for each other.

Comments on the 30 Minute Public Talk
by RubaDub ini must admit, the 30 minute public talk is more "improved" over the older version(s).. the next step should be to reduce the watchtower study to 45 minutes.
in that way, with songs and prayers, you are out the door in an hour and a half.. rub a dub.

As for the Watchtower Study, OMG, it's WAY too long.
BAck in the mid 1970s the WASHTOWEL study would run over TWO HOURS LONG! What with 40-45 paragraphs.....
